چکیده

In the current investigation, efficacy of five different biochemical stimulants; 2-phenylacetic acid (PAA), humic (HA), spermidine (SPD), 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP), and ferric chlorides (FC), as potential stimulant in augmenting growth/biomass, lipid docosahexaenoic (DHA) production Aurantiochytrium sp. ATCC PRA-276 were elucidated. After 120 h cultivation, individual supplementation PAA, HA, SPD, 1-MCP, FC, elevates biomass, total DHA by 32%–76%, 23%–34%, 53%–86% comparison to control, respectively. The highest biomass productivities was observed with PAA FC achieving 76% 67% 86% 66%, compared may have increased reducing lag period extending log phase. While only a marginal increment on contents 1-MCP. This study suggests application stimulants for improved growth, PRA-276.

Production of docosahexaenoic acid by Aurantiochytrium sp. ATCC PRA-276

The high costs and environmental concerns associated with using marine resources as sources of oils rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids have prompted searches for alternative sources of such oils. Some microorganisms, among them members of the genus Aurantiochytrium, can synthesize large amounts of these biocompounds. However, various parameters that affect the polyunsaturated fatty acids produ...

Acid-catalyzed hot-water extraction of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)-rich lipids from Aurantiochytrium sp. KRS101.

In this study, acid-catalyzed hot-water extraction of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)-rich lipids from Aurantiochytrium sp. was performed, and its yield-enhancing effects were investigated. The total fatty acid content of the Aurantiochytrium sp. was 482.5mg/g cell, of which 141.7mg/g cell (29.4% of total fatty acids) was DHA. The lipid-extraction yield by acid-catalyzed hot-water treatment was comp...

Draft genome sequence of the docosahexaenoic acid producing thraustochytrid Aurantiochytrium sp. T66

Thraustochytrids are unicellular, marine protists, and there is a growing industrial interest in these organisms, particularly because some species, including strains belonging to the genus Aurantiochytrium, accumulate high levels of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Aurantiochytrium sp. T66 (ATCC PRA-276), with a size of 43 Mbp, and 11,683 predicted prote...

Biotechnological Production of Docosahexaenoic Acid Using Aurantiochytrium limacinum: Carbon Sources Comparison And Growth Characterization

Aurantiochytrium limacinum, a marine heterotrophic protist/microalga has shown interesting yields of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) when cultured with different carbon sources: glucose, pure and crude glycerol. A complete study in a lab-scale fermenter allowed for the characterization and comparison of the growth kinetic parameters corresponding to each carbon source. Artificial Marine Medium (AMM)...
